Description

Please read this topic carefully before installing your
software.

Note

ProFantasy's product
range is in transition. Campaign Cartographer 3, City
Designer 3, Dungeon Designer 3, Symbol Set 1, Symbol Set
2 and Cosmographer 3 are out, as are compatibility
updates to a variety of add-ons. But not all of our add-
ons are compatible with CC3 yet - some only work with CC2
Pro.

Solution

What you need to install depends on the version of
Campaign Cartographer you have...

I have CC3 or CC3 and version 3
add-ons only (DD3, CD3, SS1v3, SS2v3, Cos3 and Cities!).

I have CC3 and a mixture of
version 3 and/or a variety of older add-ons.

I have FT Pro and/or any of
the Source Maps stand-alone products (Castles!, Temples!,
Cities! or WW2 Interactive Atlas)but no copy of Campaign
Cartographer.

I have CC2 or CC2 Pro only or
with only older add-ons.

I have Campaign Mapper and/or the
Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas with or without CC2 or
CC2 Pro.

Note on .NET

If you encounter an error message telling you that you
need .NET Framework installed, follow the instructions in
this tech support topic, before returning
here.

CC3 and version 3 add-ons only

Install CC3 into its own, separate folder

Download and install the patch available from your
href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">reg
istration page.

Install any version 3 add-ons (DD3, CD3, SS1v3,
SS2v3, Cos3 and SM:Cities!) in any order.

Download and install the patch again. It is
available from your href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">reg
istration page.

CC3 and older add-ons

Install CC3 into its own folder

Skip compatibility updates that you have the CC3
versions of (DD3, CD3, SS1v3, SS1v3, Cos3 or Cities!).

Download and install the patch available from your
href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">reg
istration page.

Install the remaining compatibility updates
(Character Artist, Dioramas, Perspectives, Symbols Set 3)
in any order.
Now install any version 3 add-ons you have (DD3,
CD3, SS1v3, SS2v3, Cos3 and SM:Cities!) in any order.

Download and install the patch again. It is
available from your href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">reg
istration page.

Compatibility upgrades for Character Artist, Symbol
Set 3, Perspectives and Dioramas are available by either
href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">log
ging into your account at our web site or by href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/tracking.asp">vie
wing your order on-line. Your products must be
registered for the links to show up.

If you purchased any of the Source Maps products or
the Tome of Ultimate Mapping you can install them as
stand-alone products. This will allow you to view all of
the maps. If you want to edit the maps you will need to
install CC2 Pro.

You can download a copy of CC2 Pro from your order
page or use the CD. Contact href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">Tec
h Support for a CC2 Pro serial number if it is not
the correct format.

Install CC2 Pro into its own, separate folder
(not into the CC3 folder!).

Install the WWII Interactive Atlas, the Tome of
Ultimate Mapping and any Source Maps products except
Temples!.

Apply href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">Uni
versal Update 8 to CC2 Pro.

Install Source Maps:Temples!

The Tome of Ultimate Mapping and the World War II
Atlas must be installed under CC2 Pro if you want to edit
them, as we have not released compatibility upgrades yet.
If you only want to view the maps choose the stand-alone
option when you install.

Stand-alone Products

Fractal Terrains Pro, The Tome of Ultimate Mapping and
any of the Source Maps products can be installed without
a copy of Campaign Cartographer.

Install these in any order to their own separate
folders.

If you own on older version of Fractal Terrains, you
might need an update.

Check FT's Help Menu >> About. If the version
number is less than 1.6 and you have href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">reg
istered both FT and FT Pro at our web site, you will
need to delete the FT Pro serial number. Record this
serial number before you delete it!

Now, check the right hand menu for the version 1.6
upgrade. Download and install this file.

Use the version 2 CD if you have it or href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/tracking.asp">acc
ess your order page for the FT Pro upgrade to version
2. Download and install it.

ister your FT Pro serial number, then download and
install the 2.3 patch.

CC2 or CC2 Pro only or with older add-ons

Install CC2 or CC2 Pro in its own separate folder.

Install any add-ons in any order except Source
Maps:Temples.

Apply href="http://www.profantasy.com/service/entrance.asp">Uni
versal Update 8 to CC2 Pro.

Install Source Maps:Temples!

Campaign Mapper or the Forgotten Realms Interactive
Atlas

Disable antivirus software during installation of
the products and patches.

Install CM from the CR2 CD into a its own separate
folder. Do not install it into either the CC3 or CC2 Pro
folders. You can use Windows Start >> Run and then browse
the CD for the CM folder to find the setup.exe if you do
not want to install Core Rules 2.

Download the href="http://www.profantasy.com/library/files/tech/cm6036
up.zip">CM patch . Start CM, save whatever file comes
up then exit. It is imperative that you install the patch
because it contains the updated catalogs.

If you have CC2 Pro, and want to use the symbols
from CM and the FRIA with it, install CC2 Pro at this
point. Start CC2 Pro, save the map that comes up and exit
again.

Install the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas
(FRIA) into its own separate folder - do not install it
into the CC3, CC2 Pro or CM folders. Start the Atlas,
save whatever file comes up then exit.

Apply all three of the href="http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?
x=dnd/ex20020218a">FRIA Patches in their numeric
order. After each patch you need to use Windows Explorer
to clear the Read Only flag from the FRIA maps. Use
Windows Explorer to navigate to the FR Atlas folder.
Right click on the Maps folder then choose Properties.
Clear the Read Only box and click Apply.

Reboot your computer, remember to disable antivirus
again.

If applicable, finish the CC2 Pro
installation with the add-ons and Universal Update.

Enable your antivirus.

You can move the Campaign Mapper symbol catalogs
(city.fsc, dungeon.fsc, map.fsc) into your CC2
Pro\Symbols folder, then uninstall Campaign Mapper if you
do not plan on using it.

FRIA installs its symbol catalogs into CC2 Pro
provided you have followed the above CC2 Pro
instructions.
