Scale or rotate symbols

1 Select a symbol from the Symbol Catalog Window.

2 To increase or decrease the size of the symbol: hold down the CTRL key and move the mouse up or down. The symbol cursor will change in size. You can zoom in or out during this process for more accuracy.

3 To rotate the symbol hold down SHIFT then CTRL then move the mouse around. The symbol cursor will rotate. You can zoom in or out during this process for more accuracy.

4 To align the symbol north, south, east or west, press the arrow keys

5 To rotate or scale the symbol by typing numbers, right click. Type values in the scale or rotation boxes. Select Set Normal to reset the symbol scale and angle. Click More to contune inseting symbols.

Note If you change the scale or rotation, CC3 will use the new values for the next symbol you add.

Note CC3’s map symbols are scaled to be the right size on a 1000 by 8000 mile template. If your are using a significantly larger or smaller template set the symbol scale using option 5 above. For example, if you were using a 100 by 80 mile template, you would change the Scale X and Y values to 0.1.
