City Designer Pro Features
City Designer Pro is, without doubt, the most powerful and useful add-on we have ever made. We wanted
City Designer Pro to be much more than a symbol library - buildings come in many shapes and sizes. We
wanted it to be easy to navigate cities and quick to create them. We wanted easy-to-add demographic
information. We achieved all this and made it very easy to use.
Playing houses
Symbols are important (we've added over 1,500 of them), but they are not enough on their own.
Users must be able to add buildings, quickly and easily, which combine with the symbols to produce a
consistent look. For this purpose, we added the House Builder command. This is best illustrated by
an example.
Gorbash, orc warrior, needs somewhere to live. His next door neighbor's hut is a symbol from the orc
catalog. To build a custom house in the same style, we click the House icon, then select the appropriate
settings in the dialog box (these are remembered).
Here we've chosen an L-shaped house in the Orc hut style, with a basic roof. Next we click four
points, as shown here, and the house is added...
Finally, add some decorations from the symbol catalog and this is what you've got:
The same four clicks with a different house setting could have given you any of these instead:
Every symbol catalog has one or more house settings associated with it, and these are set automatically
when you click on a catalog button.
You're not limited to these, either. You can design your own house settings and house style and even
share them with other City Designer Pro users. The appearance of rood edges, the tiles and the roof tops
are all at your finger tips.
Shady dealings
Just after you've inserted the house, you can cycle through different roof shading options until it matches
the other buildings, and even add an extension to the building you just drew.
Killer roads
Roads are easy to add using shortcut icons. You can now align CC2-Pro 's grid to any straight edge with two
clicks, making accurate construction easy. Just draw houses along the roads with the grid aligned.
Truth is stranger than Science Fiction
We've included a huge selection of symbols, frills and house settings so that most gamers will be happy
- fantasy, modern and future and are all there. And all these symbols are smart - the buildings align
themselves to straight or roads then offset, decorations align to roof edges.
Random fandom

We've also added feature that adds whole streets at once. Just select some options and draw random
streets in any direction, even around curves. These can include combinations of different house shapes
and house styles.

Stay well-informed
When you've added text to your City Designer Pro map, you can create an index from it. First add a
labeled grid using Grid Overlay. This can be numbered or lettered. Next create the index. City
Designer 2 takes the text, lists it alphabetically, then you can place it anywhere in the drawing.
Each piece of text has the grid coordinate by it. Just click on any entry to zoom the correct place
in the map.
Demon demographics
Each building has a hidden color that you can use to keep demographic information; for example you might
want inns to be blue, dens of iniquity to be red, etc. By hiding and showing layers, you can print two
versions of every map; one with the normal roof shading, the other with the demographic information.
Streets ahead
City Designer Pro is powerful but very easy to use. We think you'll love it.
